“The train was a very small part of the journey,” said Ms Ritchie, who said it would be “a shame” if a passenger suffered a head injury.
“It’s a shame it took this long,” she added. “
Ahead of Christmas, we should be investing in rail so we can get our children on the train and get them out of the car.”
“It’s a shame it took this long,” she added.
“I would be very grateful if somebody could find the train.”
The Australian Government is planning to spend more than $3.6 billion to improve rail in 2018, with more than half of the investment being on freight services, such as trains and buses.
“The first stage of our new rail project is to establish a rail operator with a rail licence, to ensure that we have the infrastructure to deliver the services that are required to provide reliable and affordable rail service for the community,” Transport Minister Scott Emerson said in a statement.
“This is an important step towards ensuring that all Australians are able to enjoy the benefits of a modern rail network, whether they’re travelling by train or by car.”
