Railway companies are in a unique position in the railroads’ quest for profit, because they’re competing with a whole host of technologies, from electrification to autonomous vehicles, that are already on the horizon.
And the rail companies are also trying to make the transition to the new business model that will be more flexible than they ever have been before.
Railroads and the automakers are already making great strides to transition from a car to a rail system.
The Detroit-based ATS Corp. recently announced plans to bring the full-electric ATS Train, a car that runs on a battery pack, to market in 2020.
But the company will need a major change in the way the train is made.
The ATS trains, which run on electric motors and have a range of more than 100 miles, have been a major success.
But when they’re powered by a battery, the trains can’t be maintained for long.
The batteries are replaced, and the train can be driven for several hours without needing to recharge.
